Mercans, a global leader in payroll technology, has announced that it has tripled its research and development resources in the Global Innovation Center over the past 12 months and is rolling out technological enhancements to its innovative payroll systems. Technology has accelerated significantly.
This follows the recent launch of G2N Nova, a state-of-the-art global gross net worth calculation tool. A stateless application architecture has never been successfully used in the global payroll industry, and G2N Nova is the only payroll tool capable of producing 100% accurate gross-to-net calculations for over 100 countries. Additionally, it does this through a single native platform in real-time, without the need for personally identifiable information (PII) of customer assets.
With this computing engine, G2N Nova has also laid the groundwork for integrating blockchain technology into the payroll process, enabling instant and 100% forgery verification of payroll calculations and payments. This revolutionary approach creates a permanent, immutable record of payroll transactions and amounts in real time, providing a solid foundation for third parties, including financial institutions and tax authorities.

Advancing Innovation in Payroll Technology
Mercans latest hire aims to support this innovation along with building an ecosystem around the ability to integrate, further develop and improve futuristic technologies such as dynamic, hyper-intelligent data analyzers designed exclusively for the payroll industry and AI, and integrate ML into payroll processing. . Mercans also plans to focus on the use of artificial intelligence in data retrieval and post-processing in the near future, as these areas are comparatively less automated.
While many payroll providers use machine learning to automate tasks, Mercans extends this approach by implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for automated payroll data validation and real-time digital process management.
“The use of AI in case management will be widespread in the future. Artificial intelligence is already being used for this function and, for example, we are exploring the use of large language models to develop naturalistic service bots,” said Martin Kangur, Deputy CTO of Mercans.
“As AI capabilities develop rapidly, it is important that organizations have the right data protection protocols in place. For example, they need to know what data is stored, where it is stored, and in which countries their company is considered a data controller or processor. Once AI is involved, the process becomes even more complex, especially if the AI tools are not fully under the company’s control,” explains Tatjana Domovits, CEO of the Mercans Group.
